Our success in treating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome comes through a more conservative and gentle approach. When you're tired of suffering and feel ready to learn how Chiropractic treatments may help you, Dr. Brenda Dukes is here to help.
Repetitive motion injuries are all too common in the workplace but have you thought about the impact of texting, typing or surfing on your computer, laptop or mobile device? Over time, even seemingly innocuous activity can lead to symptoms of pain, numbness and loss of grip strength.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused when a nerve is pinched in the wrist and can cause your fingers to feel numb and tingly.

Don’t let carpal tunnel syndrome slow you down.

Dr. Dukes and her staff are excited to help you feel better. If you or your loved one is suffering, please call us today.  Schedule your consultation to learn if Chiropractic care is the right option for you so that you can get back to living your life.

NOTE: If this is a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately.
If you suspect that you’re suffering from CTS, Dr. Dukes strongly recommends seeking a comprehensive examination and learning about non-invasive treatment options first. If CTS is present, Dr. Dukes will recommend proven chiropractic treatments which may include gentle manipulation of the wrist, elbow and cervical spine as well as massage and physical therapy to alleviate your symptoms.

Chiropractic care offers highly effective and minimally-invasive CTS treatment that may help you avoid drugs and/or surgical options.

Left untreated, the syndrome can cause permanent damage.

If you think you may have carpal tunnel syndrome, a consultation with Dr. Dukes can kick-start the healing process and may even prevent you from enduring an unnecessary surgery.

While there are no guarantees that any one mode of treatment will work on every person, chiropractic treatment is designed to improve range of motion, finger sensation, and reduce patient pain.

Chiropractic care offers an alternative to pain & anti-inflammatory drug use. As with surgery, daily doses of medicine may be a less than ideal treatment option. Some patients may not want to take daily medications for a variety of reasons such as side-effects or conflicts with other medication.
Dr. Dukes reviews your case individually and will provide you treatment options that may alleviate the need to manage pain and/or inflammation through medication.

Bracing is another common treatment. Bracing limits wrist and hand movement. The goal is to allow tissues of the wrist to heal and recover through rest.

What Causes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome(CTS)?

Your carpal tunnel is a narrow conduit in the wrist that the median nerve, which extends from the spine to the hand, passes through. CTS symptoms typically appear when the median nerve is compressed due to swelling or inflammation.

CTS is most often attributed to repetitive motion injury due to work or hobbies such as construction work, factory work, typing or online game play. Studies also suggest that genetics may play a role as well simply due to the fact that some individuals simply have a relatively smaller carpal tunnel than others.

It is vitally important to your long-term wellness that you seek a thorough health examination and know all your options. Despite the fact that it is not uncommon that patients suffering from another condition such as arthritis, subluxations or disc degeneration in the cervical spine exhibit similar symptoms and are misdiagnosed with CTS, invasive treatments like injected steroids and surgery are currently the most common treatment option employed to treat CTS symptoms
In the event of a medical emergency, dial 911.
